Pakistan Proposes Zero-Tariff Bilateral Trade Deal to US

In a significant move to strengthen economic relations, Pakistan has proposed a zero-tariff bilateral trade agreement with the United States.

According to reports in local media, the offer includes eliminating tariffs on selected product lines of mutual interest, aiming to boost trade across various sectors.

Earlier on Thursday, US President Donald Trump said that India had proposed a trade deal featuring zero tariffs on US goods. However, he also voiced disappointment over Apple’s plans to invest in India, expressing concerns about the company’s strategy.

India is aiming to finalize a trade agreement with the US within the 90-day tariff hike suspension period announced by President Trump on April 9 for key trading partners.

Earlier in the week, President Trump claimed that US involvement played a key role in preventing a potential nuclear conflict between Pakistan and India.

Speaking at a White House event, he also suggested that trade considerations significantly influenced the decision to end hostilities.
