As the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season X gears up for its much-anticipated restart, two major international stars have confirmed their availability for the Quetta Gladiators.
New Zealand’s Finn Allen and South Africa’s Rilee Rossouw will reportedly return for the remaining matches, according to a report by Jang.
This is a major boost for the league leaders as they look to carry their rich vein of form into the competition’s resumption on May 17, after being postponed earlier this year due to security concerns. With several overseas players opting not to return—including the likes of Kyle Jamieson, Tim Seifert, and Mitchell Owen—the commitment of Allen and Rossouw provides a timely shot in the arm for the tournament’s competitive balance and appeal.
Finn Allen has been a crucial part of the Gladiators’ success this season with his aggressive knocks up front. His clean ball-striking and fearless powerplay approach complement Saud Shakeel’s more measured style perfectly. His return will be especially valuable given how few power-hitters are rejoining squads this late in the season.
Rilee Rossouw, meanwhile, was also starting to find his feet in PSL X in recent outings. His experience and versatility add depth to Quetta Gladiators, which will be particularly crucial in the knockout stages that will follow soon after the league phase wraps up.
While some franchises are scrambling to fill gaps left by unavailable overseas players, Quetta Gladiators have already shored up their ranks with the return of key players. With Kusal Mendis also on his way back, the team appears primed to add their second PSL title. As teams finalize their squads for the sprint to the final, scheduled for May 25 in Lahore, the return of proven match-winners like Allen and Rossouw may end up making a decisive difference.
