Ahsan Ayaz Set to Represent Pakistan Squash in Two U.S. Events

Pakistani squash star Ahsan Ayaz is set to represent his country on the international stage once again, with back-to-back appearances in two high-profile tournaments in the United States next month.

The talented athlete will compete in the 26th Atlanta Open (June 4–8) and the Aftab Jawaid Memorial Men’s Open in Houston (June 11–15).

The 26-year-old from Peshawar, who has emerged as one of the beacons of hope for the revival of squash in Pakistan, is entering both events with growing confidence following his recent triumph at the Colleyville Open—his second title on the PSA World Tour. Ahsan Ayaz’s resurgence on the circuit comes at a time when Pakistan is yearning for a new generation of champions to carry forward the country’s once-dominant squash legacy.

“I’m fully prepared for the tournaments and I want to make my country proud by performing my best in both events,” Ayaz said in a recent statement to APP.

Now based in Houston, Ahsan Ayaz is not only a rising name on the court but also off it. A certified US Squash Level 3 coach, he balances his competitive career with philanthropy, youth mentoring, and advocacy for mental health. Earlier this year, he was honoured with the Pride of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Award 2025 at the Metrix Pakistan Youth Summit, in recognition of his contributions to sport and society.

With his sights firmly set on making a mark in the upcoming American tournaments, Ayaz remains one of Pakistan’s most promising squash ambassadors—determined not just to win matches, but to restore the nation’s prestige in a sport it once ruled.
