Lahore Qalandars are set to bolster their squad ahead of the crucial Pakistan Super League (PSL) playoffs this week. The team, fresh from a 26-run victory over Peshawar Zalmi that secured their place in the Qualifiers, is looking to add more depth as they prepare for the Eliminator in Lahore on Thursday.
One of the star players who helped them reach the final stages of the tournament was Sikandar Raza, who arrived back in Pakistan to play the crucial “virtual knockout” game against Peshawar Zalmi last night.
However, due to his national commitments, the Pakistani-born Zimbabwean had to leave to play Zimbabwe’s historic one-off Test match against England at Trent Bridge on May 22. However, Qalandars have already brought in a handy replacement for Sikandar Raza.
In a move that will excite fans, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed on Monday that all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play for the Qalandars from 22 to 25 May 2025. Miraz will join fellow Bangladeshi star Shakib Al Hasan, who made his debut for the Qalandars in the last match.
Lahore Qalandars hope that the addition of Miraz, known for his all-round abilities, will provide a timely boost as they aim for a strong finish in the PSL playoffs.
