The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan held a comprehensive three-day meeting of the National Curriculum Review Committee for Law to review and update the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program.
The meeting, chaired by HEC Director General (Curriculum) Dr. Amjad Hussain, focused on evaluating the structure and content of the LLB curriculum.
Participants included Hassan Raza Pasha, member of the Pakistan Bar Council; Barrister Usama Malik, Director of the Directorate of Legal Education (DLE); and Dr. Aziz-ur-Rehman, Dean of the Quaid-i-Azam University School of Law. Hidayatullah Kasi, Deputy Director (Curriculum) at HEC, served as the secretary for the session.
The committee gave principled approval to a newly designed four-year LLB program. The revised curriculum aims to align legal education in Pakistan with international best practices while addressing the specific needs of the country’s legal system.
HEC officials stated that the updated curriculum is intended to strengthen legal education standards across Pakistan and ensure graduates are better prepared for professional legal practice.
The finalized curriculum will now move forward for additional statutory approvals required under law before it is formally implemented across higher education institutions.

AOA,I think this good for those who wants to study in Law professional. In my experience current system near to collapse in all aspects like wise merit and etc.
What about those who are currently pursuing 5 years LL.B , will there be any relief for them in any means?
As of now, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has not issued any official notification regarding relief measures for students currently enrolled in the five-year LLB program. The standard duration for the LLB degree remains five years, and there have been no announced changes or accommodations for existing students.
Assalamualaikum it’s I guess a good news for the newcomers that they can achieve their degree in 4years
But meanwhile I have a query that if it becomes finalize will it be applicable on the sessions that are continuing like students who are in LLB part 2 or 3 will this new law be applied on them aswell.
the decision of whether or not to apply the new four-year LLB curriculum to current students is a complex one, with valid arguments on both sides. It should also be applied for the current students
That’s great! Let’s go currently I was papering for it n now I’m excited to pursues it so bad do remember me in ur prayers k bas mein test pas krlon abb phir banega Naya Pakistan 🤌🏼
The commission should consider the fee structure which is too high then the other university programs. They should give relief for those who completed bachelor and master degree.
