Online cattle market auctions held on Wednesday attracted nearly 950 bids across 28 markets in Punjab, generating a total of Rs. 6.59 billion, according to official records.
The auctions, conducted through a transparent digital platform, were overseen by the Punjab Cattle Market Management and Development Company (PCMMDC) under the supervision of the Local Government and Community Development Department.
The process saw strong participation from both large contractors and regional firms. Among the three divisions involved, Multan emerged as the top revenue earner, bringing in Rs. 2.63 billion from its 10 cattle markets. Lahore followed with Rs. 2.03 billion, while Faisalabad recorded Rs. 1.91 billion.
The highest single bid of the auction came from Multan’s Model Cattle Market in Jungle Jaswant Garh, awarded for Rs. 1.57 billion. In Lahore, Shahpur Kanjran Model Cattle Market secured a bid of Rs. 1.5 billion, while Faisalabad’s Jhang Model Cattle Market drew a successful bid of Rs. 1.16 billion.
Other significant bids included:
- Sheikhupura Model Cattle Market – Rs. 486.78 million
- Luddan Cattle Market – Rs. 710 million
- Niamoana Model Cattle Market – Rs. 140.7 million
Smaller markets such as Chund Bharwana, Tandlianwala, Gaggoo, and Machiwal also attracted active bidding, with offers ranging between Rs. 14 million and Rs. 50 million.
In terms of participation, Lahore’s five markets received 253 bids, Multan’s 10 markets got 240 bids, and Faisalabad’s 13 markets drew the most with 457 bids, underscoring growing interest from private operators across the province.
