After a sweltering Sunday with temperatures reaching 37.6°C, combined with 70% humidity, Karachi is set to experience a week of intense heatwave.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that hot and humid conditions will persist throughout the coming week, with the weather expected to become even more intense by Thursday and Friday. Daytime temperatures could exceed 40°C, according to a Met department official.
Rising humidity levels are also expected to continue, leading to higher “feels-like” temperatures and increasing the risk of heat-related health issues. The PMD has advised Karachiites to prepare for extremely hot days ahead and to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak hours.
Updates on the system’s movement and intensity are expected in the coming days.
