The alert includes expected weather activity in areas such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Malakand, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Waziristan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Bannu, Karak, and Kohat.
In response to the forecast, the PDMA has instructed all district administrations to be on high alert and ensure that emergency response equipment, including both light and heavy machinery, is readily available to manage potential rain-related incidents.
The authority also issued public safety guidelines, urging residents to avoid exposed electric wires, unstable structures, and large signboards or billboards during storms. Farmers have been advised to adjust their agricultural plans in line with the forecast.
In the upper regions prone to landslides and flash floods, locals and tourists have been urged to stay updated on weather conditions and take necessary precautions. Local authorities have been directed to issue warnings in regional languages to ensure the message reaches all communities.
In the event of road closures caused by flooding or landslides, relevant departments have been ordered to act swiftly in clearing blockages and providing alternate routes for travelers.
Tourists planning trips to hilly or recreational areas have been advised to check weather forecasts and road conditions in advance. For real-time updates and emergency assistance, citizens can contact the PDMA’s toll-free helpline at 1700.
The PDMA confirmed that its Emergency Operations Center is fully active, monitoring developments around the clock and coordinating with district authorities to respond to any emergencies.
