CM Punjab Takes Action Against High Chicken Prices

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has voiced serious concern over the surge in chicken prices across the province.

During a special session held in Lahore on Wednesday, the Chief Minister instructed the concerned authorities to take immediate action to stabilize chicken prices throughout Punjab.

She also emphasized the need for strict monitoring of essential vegetable prices, such as tomatoes, onions, garlic, ginger, green chilies, and lemons—especially in the lead-up to Eid-ul-Azha.

Highlighting the importance of price stability, she declared that any rise in the cost of key vegetables ahead of Eid-ul-Azha would not be tolerated. She warned against artificial inflation through hoarding and made it clear that strict measures would be taken against such practices.

In addition, CM Maryam ordered swift action to bring down the price of ‘roti’ following a recent decline in flour rates. She also called on the Agriculture Department to devise a practical strategy to lower vegetable transportation costs and promote the cultivation of off-season vegetables.
