Islamabad Takes Major Decision to Avoid Unwanted Incidents in Parks

Islamabad authorities have declared Lake View Park and Daman-e-Koh as family-only parks for the three days of Eid Al-Adha. According to the district administration’s notification, single men and groups of men will not be allowed entry during this period.

Single men and groups of men will not be allowed entry to these popular public parks throughout the holiday period. The move aims to ensure a safe, comfortable, and harassment-free environment for families, especially women and children, amid the expected surge in visitors during the holidays.

Security has been heightened, with personnel stationed at entry points. Additional facilities, such as improved seating, picnic spots, and entertainment options for children, have been arranged to enhance the visitor experience. Expanded parking zones and special traffic plans have also been introduced to prevent congestion around the parks.

The decision has been welcomed by many families, who appreciate the effort to provide a peaceful and family-friendly setting for Eid celebrations. Authorities have urged all visitors to cooperate with park management and follow the guidelines to ensure a pleasant atmosphere for everyone.

  • This is gender discrimination. Single men not allowed but single women allowed. Women are not going to survive in isolation after these three days, will they?

    • To single men ko harkaten bhi to ulti hoti hain na…Pakistan ka lata nhi? tum kya Mars se aye ho?

  • Eid is not a time to go to these places. Avoid them at all costs.

I wish the family rule was placed generally during parts of the week. Such weird people are there.

  • Good decision by Islamabad administration…Appreciated and this should be SOP for future also

  • Excellent decision . I wish that this should be a genrel policy on weekends and other days of the weeks.

  • Appreciable indeed! Need proper patrolling of the police to implement this decision!

  • Poor knee-jerk decision making as usual.

Increase vigilance and lookouts instead of being discriminatory by banning a gender from partaking in legal entertainment activities. This just shows poor planning and management from CDA.

  • Its a good decision and should be implemented across the country. This practice should be followed through out the year and not limited to just eid or weekends.

At all parks which attracts many families and individuals, surveillance cameras should be installed and a police station with first aid facilites should be setup. visitors will feel secure and will be at ease.
