Pakistan’s cricketing firepower is set to light up the Big Bash League once again, with several of the country’s top stars officially part of the BBL 15 Draft pool.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Rauf, and Shadab Khan are up for grabs in this year’s BBL Draft. With no international commitments between November and February, the window is wide open for these players to play the full season, making them hot picks for all eight franchises.
This year’s draft will take place on June 19, with the BBL draft set to begin right after the WBBL11 draft.
Leading the Pakistani contingent is left-arm pace ace Shaheen Afridi, who is expected to be one of the most sought-after players in the draft. Still only 25, Shaheen is widely regarded as one of the best new-ball bowlers, with a proven track record in the PSL, The Hundred, and other T20 leagues. With Brisbane Heat holding the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft, there’s every chance Afridi could be donning teal come December.
Also available for the full BBL 15 campaign is Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan’s consistent wicketkeeper-batter known for his calm presence at the top of the order. Joining them are Haris Rauf, who returns to the BBL where he made his name with the Melbourne Stars, and Shadab Khan, a T20 globetrotter with an all-round skill set and previous experience in BBL.
Meanwhile, Sana Mir will be Pakistan’s sole representative in the WBBL Draft among a strong list of global talent. The young fast-bowling all-rounder has been a consistent performer for Pakistan’s women’s side and will be looking to join her first Big Bash franchise.

With over 600 overseas players part of this year’s BBL draft, competition will be fierce. But with Shaheen Afridi and company available for the entire season, Pakistani players are likely to be in high demand.
For Pakistan’s stars, the BBL draft represents not just an opportunity to play in one of the world’s premier T20 leagues, but also perfect preparation for the T20 World Cup in February 2026. And for Big Bash fans, their inclusion promises world-class entertainment all summer long.
Pakistan’s presence in the BBL continues to grow and BBL 15 might just be the season they take over.
