Huawei’s Pura series has consistently showcased the brand’s most advanced camera technologies, and the new Pura 80 Ultra is no exception. This flagship device introduces a range of hardware and software features, with a particular emphasis on photography and display quality.
The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra features a quad-curved 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with FHD+ resolution. The screen supports an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz, ensuring smooth visuals and efficient power management. It is protected by second-generation Kunlun glass and offers up to 3,000 nits of peak local brightness. The device is available in Black and Gold color options and is rated IP68/69 for water and dust resistance.
While Huawei has not disclosed the specific chipset powering the Pura 80 Ultra, the device comes standard with 16GB of RAM and offers storage configurations of either 512GB or 1 TB. The phone runs HarmonyOS 5.1, providing a range of software features and optimizations tailored to Huawei’s ecosystem.
The Pura 80 Ultra introduces a sophisticated camera system, headlined by a 1/1.28-inch 50MP periscope telephoto sensor with a unique moving mechanism that enables switchable telephoto lenses. Users can achieve 3.7x and 9.4x optical zoom, with sensor-shift optical image stabilization, for extra stable photos and videos.
The main camera is a 50MP 1-inch type RYYB sensor with a variable aperture (f/1.6–f/4.0) and OIS, offering a record 16EV dynamic range. Additional camera hardware includes a 40MP ultrawide lens (13mm) and a 1.5MP multi-spectral color sensor. The camera system supports various photographic style presets and a new real-time fusion technology for video.
The device is equipped with a 5,700 mAh battery, supporting 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. The 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant is priced at approximately $1,391, while the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage version is available for roughly $1,530.
As with most Huawei models, global availability remains unclear.
