IESCO to Stop Accepting Bill Payments at Post Offices

The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced it will discontinue the facility of paying electricity bills at post offices starting July 1, 2025. According to sources, IESCO has formally notified Pakistan Post about this decision.

IESCO officials explained that the move is part of efforts to digitise the bill collection process, aiming to improve efficiency and streamline operations. After June 30, customers will need to use alternative payment methods such as banks, mobile apps, or online platforms to pay their electricity bills.

In a separate development, the Power Division has addressed recent rumors circulating on social media about a supposed ban on installing more than one electricity meter in a single residential unit.

The Ministry of Energy’s Power Division clarified in an official statement on X (formerly Twitter) that these reports are completely false and misleading. There is no ban on obtaining multiple electricity meters for one household, and eligible applicants can still apply for additional meters according to existing regulations.

The public is advised to rely on official sources for updates and to use the available digital channels for bill payments after the post office facility ends.
