Otis Khan Discusses Efforts to Reconcile With Stephen Constantine

Former Pakistan football team captain Otis Khan has revealed fresh insights into his ongoing efforts to patch things up with national team coach Stephen Constantine during a recent episode of the ProSports Podcast.

Otis, recalling their fallout during the World Cup qualifying campaign, admitted that communication between them had broken down but expressed his desire to mend fences while also admitting he was in the wrong.

“I have done everything in my power to rectify what happened. I made a mistake. It was no one’s fault but myself. I was under pressure to go back to England due to contracts, but how it was done, it was totally my fault. So I take full responsibility for that,” Otis Khan said about the situation.

“Since then, I have tried to reach out four or five times to Stephen to speak to him. I even flew to Cyprus to speak to him, but he didn’t want to meet me. I have done everything on my part, but that is where it’s at at the moment,” he added.

Looking ahead, Otis Khan has voiced hope that the two could resolve their issues someday.

Otis Khan and Stephen Constantine had a very public falling out after the winger left Pakistan’s camp before their flight to Tajikistan for the World Cup Qualifier. Constantine, since then, hasn’t called up Otis to any of the squads for Pakistan’s games, including their ongoing Asian Cup Qualifiers, despite the team’s struggles. It appears he will remain on the sidelines for the foreseeable future as well.

The Pakistan football team has been struggling under Constantine for a while now, and the Englishman might be able to turn things around if he recalls experienced players like Otis Khan to the team.

Otis Khan’s comments on the ProSports Podcast provide a clear, no-fluff update: he’s taken steps to mend bridges with Constantine, remains hopeful they’ll reconcile, and has no plans to let the past define his relationships moving forward. Whether he returns to the international team is now in his coach’s hands.
