Pakistan’s football team could soon be playing matches against teams from outside Asia, thanks to the FIFA Series—an opportunity discussed in a recent meeting between FIFA President Gianni Infantino and PFF President Mohsen Gilani at the FIFA Executive Football Summit in Miami.
The FIFA Series is a tournament created by the world football body to give developing teams more chances to play international matches during the dedicated March window, where teams from all six confederations compete at a centralized venue.
After the summit in Miami, Infantino confirmed that Pakistan could be heading for the tournament next year, as it takes place in even-numbered years. “We touched upon key topics such as the development of the women’s football team and the men’s team potentially participating in next year’s FIFA Series,” he said.
If Pakistan takes part, it would be a rare chance to play against countries from different continents. Since 2022, Pakistan’s national team has mostly played in World Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers, with little to no international friendlies, even though coach Stephen Constantine has repeatedly requested them.
The FIFA Series was launched last year and featured 24 teams from all over the world. Most matchups were between countries that had never played each other before.
Next year’s FIFA Series could help Pakistan gain valuable experience as it looks to build a team for future competitions, with recent ones slipping away.
If Pakistan’s participation in the FIFA Series is confirmed, it would mark a major step forward for the national team—giving players a much-needed chance to test themselves against unfamiliar opponents and grow on the world stage, which should only help the team get stronger.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 good joke. It took decades of hard work for Latin America to improve
We don’t even know how to compete on street level . Always a joke
