The School Education Department has taken a major step towards the regularization of over 14,000 educators across Punjab, including 3,000 Assistant Education Officers (AEOs), following a key committee meeting held on the matter.
During the meeting, officials assured that the process of regularization would begin soon. The committee confirmed that a summary recommending regular appointments — without requiring PPSC exams — will be sent to the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for approval.
Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) General Secretary Rana Liaqat Ali, who also attended the meeting, welcomed the move and termed it a long-standing demand of educators across the province.
He praised the efforts of the Punjab Education Minister, calling the initiative “a commendable step” toward securing the future of thousands of contract teachers.
