Hajj 2026 Deadline Extended – New Last Date Announced

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has extended the registration deadline for Hajj 2026 by two days, allowing prospective pilgrims to apply until Friday, July 11, 2025.

According to ministry spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt, the extension follows a high number of registration requests. Applicants can complete the process through the ministry’s official online portal or any of the 15 designated banks.

As of Wednesday, nearly 250,000 Pakistanis had completed the mandatory registration phase, which closed earlier the same day, as reported by ProPakistani. The ministry later confirmed that the total number of applicants has exceeded 313,000.

The initial registration did not require any upfront payment. Those who completed this step will later choose between the government and private Hajj schemes once the Hajj Policy 2026, detailing costs, terms, and conditions, is officially released.

This year’s strong early response comes after operational difficulties during Hajj 2025, when several private operators failed to utilize their assigned quotas. Pakistan had received an allocation of 179,210 pilgrims, evenly split between government and private schemes. While the government sent over 88,000 pilgrims, many private companies missed deadlines due to payment and communication issues, leaving thousands without arrangements.

The current registration drive also includes those who were unable to travel under the private scheme in 2025, as well as overseas Pakistanis seeking to join the 2026 pilgrimage.
