The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has unveiled its latest Quality of Service (QoS) Survey for the first quarter of 2025, and this time, we are looking at the data for upload speeds across mobile networks in Pakistan. Based on comprehensive testing in 15 cities, Jazz and Zong emerged as the leading providers, significantly outpacing Ufone and Telenor in upload performance.
In tests conducted using automated tools, which mimic typical user data usage, Jazz ranked first in 10 out of 15 cities, earning it the top spot for upload speeds in Auto Mode Testing. Key performances from Jazz include:
Zong followed closely behind, securing 5 first-place finishes, especially dominating in cities like Dina Town (20.59 Mbps) and Rahim Yar Khan (22.41 Mbps).
Telenor lagged significantly, ranking last in all 15 cities with upload speeds ranging from just 2.35 to 7.70 Mbps, while Ufone remained in third place across the board.
When upload speeds were tested using third-party apps, which simulate real-life internet use more accurately, Zong surged to the front, topping the chart in 8 cities, compared to Jazz’s 7 cities. Zong’s best upload speeds were observed in:
Jazz remained a close competitor with strong showings in Kuchlak (17 Mbps), Chamkani (27.25 Mbps), and Dinga Town (29.54 Mbps), but ultimately came in second in overall 3rd party app rankings.
