The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released its latest Quality of Service (QoS) Survey for Q1 2025, revealing which mobile network providers are delivering the fastest download speeds across 15 cities nationwide. Based strictly on download performance, Jazz and Zong emerged as the top contenders, with Jazz leading in automated testing and Zong dominating in third-party app testing.
Jazz Tops in Auto Mode
When it comes to download speeds measured through automated testing, which simulates typical user behavior, Jazz claimed first place in 11 out of 15 cities, making it the best overall performer in this category. Notable performances were observed in these areas:
- Chamkani: Jazz clocked in 39.06 Mbps of download speeds
- Hala: 32.32 Mbps
- Rahim Yar Khan: 25.01 Mbps
- Dinga town: 25.84 Mbps
Zong Leads in 3rd Party Apps
However, when download speeds were measured using independent third-party apps, which are often considered more reflective of real-world usage, Zong led in 10 cities, outperforming all rivals in this category.
Highlights include:
- Dina town: 40.36 Mbps
- Kasur: 36.27 Mbps
- Rahim Yar Khan: 39.59 Mbps
- Chamkani: 29.14 Mbps
Across most cities, Jazz and Zong consistently swapped the top two positions while Ufone and Telenor, by contrast, lagged significantly behind:
- Ufone mostly placed third or fourth in both testing methods.
- Telenor finished in last place in download speeds across nearly all tested regions.

Worthless survey. This wasn’t worth a write up. I have a Jazz 4G connection since the last so many years and it’s absolutely below par in all respects. Seems the writer just got impressed and emotional by the cold drink he was offered at the Jazz office he visited to get the data for this article.
