The Punjab government has taken another major step toward land record digitization by enabling citizens to download property registries online through the Punjab Urban Land Systems Enhancement (PULSE) project.
The PULSE project introduces a Unified Land Information System, designed to consolidate urban land data for more transparent and accessible records. A core feature is GIS-based parcel mapping, which accurately links official maps to land ownership data, helping reduce disputes and ambiguities.
Covers Millions of Documents
As part of the initiative, over 151 million pages of registered deeds have been digitized. The system also integrates with local housing authorities and has successfully mapped over 836 housing societies, covering more than 874,000 land parcels. These upgrades streamline documentation and support efficient record-keeping.
Online Access for the Public
Citizens can download their property registry documents by visiting the official PULSE portal, selecting “RoD Archives/Records,” and entering their city, tehsil, CNIC, buyer’s name, and registry number. The system then allows users to view and download the official documents under the section “Record ki Tafseelat.”
Officials said the digital transformation is part of a wider strategy to promote planned urban development, improve registration processes, and reduce corruption in land transactions. It is also expected to encourage domestic and foreign investment by providing a more reliable land governance system.
PERA Launched
In a related development, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) on July 14 at the Lahore Expo Centre. PERA will begin operations in Lahore Division next week and is expected to expand across the province by December.
The authority has been tasked with curbing artificial inflation, hoarding, profiteering, and illegal land encroachments. Officials said the move is aimed at strengthening enforcement and restoring public confidence in governance mechanisms.
