Nearly 30,000 Driving Licenses Issued in a Day Across Punjab

In a major development, nearly 30,000 driving licenses were issued in a single day across Punjab.

According to data, a total of 29,694 people obtained their licenses as part of the ongoing efforts by the Punjab Police through its City Traffic Police (CTP) departments. The process is being managed under the Driving License Issuance Management System (DLIMS), which aims to make licensing more efficient and accessible.

In addition to issuing licenses, authorities took strict action against traffic rule violations. Over 51,000 challans were handed out in a day, while fines amounting to Rs. 44 million were imposed.

The crackdown also targeted smoke-emitting vehicles, with challans issued to 402 such vehicles. Furthermore, 35 vehicles were taken into custody and held at various police stations due to serious violations.
