Over 2,000 KG of Diseased Chicken Seized from Lahore’s Famous Market

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) seized and destroyed more than 2,270 kilogrammes of diseased poultry during a crackdown at Tollinton Market, one of Lahore’s largest meat hubs.

The early morning operation saw roadblocks set up around the market as officials inspected over 89,000kg of poultry being supplied across the city. During the inspection, authorities checked 25 cold storage units and meat suppliers.

Out of these, three businesses were fined for violating food safety regulations. PFA officials confirmed that the confiscated poultry was unfit for human consumption and posed serious health risks.

According to the authority, the crackdown is part of an ongoing campaign to curb the sale of substandard and harmful meat in the province. The PFA reiterated its commitment to ensuring that only safe and healthy food reaches consumers.

  • They have the power to inspect meat quality
But no power on prices of meat

Kept can barely afford it. Goes to show govt is not interested in price control

    • Brother, whenever you comment, you always focus on the darker side of the story, bhai jo sahi ho raha kam say kam usay to appreciate karain.

Price control and food authority are 2 separate depts agar dono main say koe aik kam kar raha hai to say to support karain.
