The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has issued a public notice urging all used vehicle buyers and sellers to verify e-challans before completing any transaction, warning that failure to do so could result in legal and financial consequences.

Why E-Challan Verification Matters

In Punjab and across Pakistan, buying and selling used vehicles is common, but PSCA warns that unpaid traffic fines tied to a vehicle can become the new owner’s responsibility. Outstanding e-challans can delay registration, complicate resale, and even lead to legal action.

Sellers are also advised to transfer ownership immediately after the sale to avoid being held accountable for future violations committed by the buyer.

How to Check Outstanding Fines

To check for unpaid fines, citizens can visit the official PSCA e-challan portal. Entering the license plate number allows immediate access to any pending challans linked to the vehicle.

For convenience, the government recommends using the ePay Punjab mobile app, available on Android and iOS. It supports multiple payment methods, including:
