The Islamabad Food Authority has recovered more than 50 donkeys and a large quantity of meat during a raid in Tarnol.
According to a report by a local channel, the Authority’s spokesperson said that the Director of the Food Authority has ordered immediate registration of a case against those involved, and the Authority’s team is in the process of disposing of the donkey meat.
Deputy Director Dr. Tahira Siddique said that a total of 25 maund (1,000 kg) of meat was seized by the team, and a foreign national present at the scene was handed over to the police.
She said that investigations are ongoing to determine which areas the meat was supplied to.
