Pakistan Steamroll Puerto Rico to Remain Unbeaten in FIVB U19 World Championship

Pakistan continued their blistering run at the FIVB U19 Men’s Volleyball World Championship, with a clinical 3-0 victory over Puerto Rico in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Led by skipper Yahya once more, who delivered a standout 16-point performance, Pakistan dominated the contest from the outset, sealing the win in straight sets: 25-20, 25-20, 25-15. The win marks another statement result from the in-form Green Shirts as they push for a top spot in Group A.

The match saw Pakistan at its devastating best to overwhelm Puerto Rico across all departments, particularly at the net. Yahya, operating as opposite, led all scorers with 14 attack points, adding a block and an ace to his tally.

He was ably supported by outside hitter Irfan, who chipped in with 11 points, while Ajmal added 6. Middle blockers Saud and Jabran proved immovable at the net, contributing a combined 6 block points to stifle Puerto Rico’s offensive rhythm. Pakistan registered a total of 8 blocks compared to Puerto Rico’s 5, and were superior in attack (38 vs 30) and service (2 aces to none).

This was Pakistan’s fourth consecutive straight-sets win in the group stage, further consolidating their position as one of the most efficient and cohesive sides in the tournament’s early phase. The victory also strengthens their position in Pool A, which features high-calibre competition.

With wins over Uzbekistan, Belgium, Türkiye, and now Puerto Rico, Pakistan is quickly building its case as one of the front-runners for the FIVB U19 World Championship crown.

Pakistan’s last match of the group stage will be against Argentina tomorrow, which will determine their opponents in the round of 16. As of right now, Pakistan could face Poland in the knockout round.

With momentum firmly on their side and their captain in commanding form, Pakistan is not an outsider anymore; they are a credible threat to every remaining team.
