The tall Pakistani spinner’s reputation for consistent control and the ability to take crucial wickets is expected to significantly enhance Worcestershire’s spin attack.

The club’s leadership has highlighted the strategic nature of the signing. CEO Ashley Giles emphasized that the length of the contract was a key consideration, noting that Mir’s transition to homegrown status will provide the club with greater flexibility in squad management and reflects a commitment to long-term team development.

Head Coach Alan Richardson described Mir’s arrival as a major boost for the squad, underscoring the club’s ambition to combine international quality with ongoing investment in youth development. He expressed enthusiasm about integrating Mir into the team and building on Worcestershire’s tradition of impactful overseas signings.

Mir’s addition is seen as a significant step in Worcestershire’s efforts to strengthen their T20 side and maintain a competitive edge in the seasons ahead.
