Expert Claims Dollar’s Actual Value is Around Rs. 260

Renowned tax expert Ashfaq Yousuf Tola has claimed that after adjusting for the Current Account Balance (CAB) posted in fiscal year 2025 (FY25), the true value of the Pakistani Rupee (PKR) against the US Dollar (USD) stands at Rs. 259.6.

He said that the rupee is currently being kept artificially undervalued at around Rs. 283 against the USD, according to a report in Business Recorder.

He explained that a depreciation of the rupee by Rs. 10 leads to a 2 percent rise in inflation, and the same applies in reverse.

It is pertinent to mention here that PKR strengthened against the US dollar during trading in the inter-bank market to close at 283.05.
