The Telecom Network Coverage Rankings July 2025 Are Here

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released its Q2 2025 Quality of Service (QoS) Survey, ranking the country’s major cellular networks based on mobile coverage, with Ufone and Jazz emerging as the top performers.

The survey, conducted independently by PTA, covered 19 cities across Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between April and June 2025. Approximately 43,000 voice calls and SMS were tested, along with over 340,000 broadband performance samples.

Mobile Coverage Rankings (3G and 4G)

The PTA ranked the four Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) based on their compliance with signal strength standards (90% confidence level) for 4G/LTE and fallback 3G networks, using devices set to technology auto-detect mode.

Here’s how the telcos performed in network coverage:

Rank Operator Total Compliant Cities (4G + 3G) Non-Compliant Cities
1st Ufone 33 (18 4G + 15 3G) 1
1st Jazz 18 (Only 4G) 1
2nd Zong 31 (17 4G + 14 3G) 3
3rd Telenor 22 (14 4G + 8 3G) 13

Ufone and Jazz achieved first place for signal reliability, with near-universal compliance. Zong followed closely, while Telenor lagged behind with the highest number of non-compliant cities. For users seeking the most reliable mobile coverage across Pakistan’s diverse cities, Ufone and Jazz are statistically the most dependable, according to the PTA’s Q2 2025 survey.

Survey Cities Covered

The following 19 cities were selected to ensure representative data across urban and semi-urban populations:

  • Punjab: Chiniot, Fateh Jang, Hasanabdal, Jatoi, Multan, Shakargarh, Sheikhupura, Pindi Bhattian, Mandi Bahauddin, Bahawalpur
  • Sindh: Karachi (Central), Larkana, Umerkot, Matiari, Jacobabad
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Mardan, Buner, Mansehra, Risalpur

Surveyors traveled 2,570 kilometers over 70 days, collecting signal strength data from maximum-population areas in each city using standardized drive-test methodologies.

Key Metrics Explained

  • 4G/3G Coverage Compliance: Assessed based on whether the signal strength meets PTA benchmarks in over 90% of the samples.
  • Auto-Detect Mode: Mobile devices used during the survey automatically switched between available network technologies (2G/3G/4G) to simulate real-world user behavior.

Separate rankings on mobile broadband performance, voice quality, and other KPIs will be published in follow-up reports later. Stay tuned.

  • I don’t know how PTA evaluated. Worst experience with ufone voice and 4G. Jazz is better then other operators

  • Here in dadu sindh yahan pe networks naam K matar he kakar mein tower wo bhe surf wadeeron or source wali bandi apni ghar k AC or ghar k bijli chalaty hn wo chahe Zong , jazz, ufone or etc check or balances nhn he raat k waqat chatoon pe beth k net chalani parte he plz solve problem

  • Ufone network the worst network for calling and super worst for Data use, specially in Sialkot.

  • Survey seems good, but you have to measure signal strength in I-8 sector, very poor signal strength, variation in voice and sometimes so much noise you can’t understand what has been talking on other side, very serious situation, Hope this issue will be taken on priority. I’m using this SIM since it had lunched about 24 years ago

  • Seems like biased stats.
Zong is working so nicely every where.
Whereas Ufone and Jazz is providing pathetic services, declining standards day by day.

  • Telenor sab sa Bekar,

Are you running a telecom company or just experimenting with pigeons and smoke signals? Because your network is a complete disaster. I’ve seen plants grow faster than your internet loads a page.

Living in [City Tando Mir Ali , Tahsil Thari Mirwah , Dist Khairpur mirs] feels like a punishment — the only tower we have is yours, and honestly, it’s just a tall piece of metal pretending to do something. Calls drop faster than my hopes every time I dial someone.

And your customer support? Wow. Their advice:

    “Restart your phone”
    “Change your SIM”
“Sacrifice a goat under a full moon for better signals”
I’ve complained more times than I’ve blinked in my life, and still — nothing. Zero improvement. Honestly, your whole network feels like a social experiment in frustration.

Please do one thing right in life: either fix your tower or rebrand yourself as a joke — because you’re already halfway there.

    Sincerely,
A loyal customer who’s now loyal only to Wi-Fi.

    ISRAR HUSSAIN

  • I am using jazz & Ufone both are best. It is requested to upgrade your sim to 4G for better use instead commenting negative feedback.
