The Telecom Network Internet Speed Rankings for July 2025 Are Here

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released its Q2 2025 Quality of Service (QoS) Survey, ranking the country’s top cellular mobile operators (CMOs) based on their mobile broadband performance. Internet speed testing was done across 19 cities to evaluate download and upload speeds using both auto mode and third-party applications.

Here is how it was done.

Testing Methods

Auto Mode Tests involved controlled download/upload testing using standardized 10GB files over 3-minute durations, and Third-Party App Tests simulated real-world performance using independent tools to assess user-experience-based speeds.

Rankings were determined based on the number of cities where a provider achieved 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th position in speed performance.

Here are the results.

Networks Ranked by Internet Speed

1. Jazz

  • Auto Mode Download: 1st place in 16 out of 19 cities
  • Auto Mode Upload: 1st in 10 cities, 2nd in 9 cities
  • 3rd Party App Download: 1st in 11 cities, 2nd in 8 cities
  • 3rd Party App Upload: 2nd in 16 cities

Jazz currently leads Pakistan’s mobile broadband space in terms of internet speed, leading in nearly all speed-based metrics, particularly in download throughput both in controlled (auto mode) and real-world (third-party app) scenarios.

2. Zong

  • Auto Mode Download: 2nd in 16 cities
  • Auto Mode Upload: 1st in 9 cities, 2nd in 8 cities
  • 3rd Party App Download: 2nd in 11 cities
  • 3rd Party App Upload: 1st in 16 cities

Zong showed strong performance in upload speeds, particularly in third-party app tests, outperforming all others with the highest number of top rankings.

3. Ufone

  • Auto Mode Download: 3rd in 13 cities
  • Auto Mode Upload: 3rd in 16 cities
  • 3rd Party App Download: 3rd in 13 cities
  • 3rd Party App Upload: 3rd in 18 cities

Ufone ranks mostly in third place, keeping the middle ground as always.

4. Telenor

  • Auto Mode Download: 3rd in 6 cities
  • Auto Mode Upload: 3rd in 1 city
  • 3rd Party App Download: 3rd in 6 cities
  • 3rd Party App Upload: 3rd in 1 city

Telenor consistently ranks last across nearly all mobile broadband metrics, indicating the need for significant upgrades.

  • In india overall network gives 100 mbps
These data collected in major cities not rural areas specifically sindh rural area networks are not good work

  • Looks like Zong Paid PTA to say this there’s still no signals on the ground floor in Township and they became leaders WTH

  • Zong phir bhi chal rha hai baqi ufone ke 4g signal aaty hain jaty hain telenor ka yahi hai jazz to 3g xhalta hai tando muhammad khan city ki charon itraf buhat shikayat ki hain koi hal nahen still zero

  • The PTA survay and their report is purely Baised, and reality is so far away from this report, Despite the truth and complaints PTA gives a face saving to network providers

  • For one thing, packages are becoming very expensive and the internet is very slow and running on par with 3G.

  • It’s all about due to opration handed over to third party, why third party take care it’s quality rather than profit 😁
