The Safe City Authority has introduced the electronic challan (e-challan) system in Muzaffargarh, marking a major step toward modernizing traffic enforcement and promoting safer roads.
To kick off the initiative, an awareness rally was held from the Safe City office to the Muzaffargarh Press Club.
The event was attended by officials from the Safe City Authority, District Traffic Police, Punjab Highway Patrol, and Rescue 1122, along with community leaders from religious, educational, and social sectors.
Authorities say the e-challan system uses surveillance cameras installed throughout the city to identify traffic violations in real time.
The system also supports broader public safety efforts by helping police monitor criminal activity through the same network of cameras.
Citizens were encouraged to wear seatbelts, use helmets, and follow traffic laws to avoid penalties under the new system. Officials emphasized that public cooperation is essential for reducing accidents and making roads safer for everyone.
