Social media has been abuzz with the news that Islamabad Airport is set to be closed down for eight days, causing panic among passengers.
As ProPakistani reported earlier, there is no eight-day shutdown planned for Islamabad airport, and all such news are incorrect.
According to an official spokesperson of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, flight operations will only be temporarily suspended on certain dates and for limited hours due to Independence Day preparations and related aerial activities.
A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) details that no flights will operate between 8 pm and 10 pm on August 11, 12, and 13.
The spokesperson noted that the restriction will only be in place for brief periods, with flight operations proceeding as usual outside these times.
