In a major development, authorities have decided to upgrade all Safe City cameras installed across Lahore with facial recognition and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology.
According to officials, nearly 8,000 cameras in the city are undergoing software upgrades. Once completed, the system will not only enable immediate action against traffic violations but also allow close monitoring of criminal activities.
Previously, only 600 cameras were being used for facial recognition, while 1,100 were dedicated to e-challan services. With the ongoing upgrade, all cameras will soon be fully functional with the latest technology.
Officials further said that the Safe Cities Authority is carrying out the entire upgrade process using its own resources. They added that similar advanced systems are already functional in other cities, and Lahore’s transition will be completed soon.

But please line, lane, zebra crossing or even without helmet are not that serious offences compared to first 4.
While Safe city Cameras managers are more active to without helmet, zebra crossing and etc.

For a decade police has been requesting people to wear helmet but our genius public gives it a shit. So the final solution is “Danda”
Try sending the same public driving here in Pakistan without helmet to Europe or Middle east and see if they takeoff their helmet even or a single minute in the burning Summer. There they will never have breathing issues when wearing helmet and nor will they ever change lanes abruptly or stop their vehicles on zebra crossing.
Reason is very simple, the police officer their gives a shit about their lames excuses.

The worst drivers on Lahore Roads are bikers. No lane discipline. No speed consideration. No number plates. No facial recognition due to helmet. So, finally it is only the ordinary guy in his old car who will bear the brunt of these cameras. The elite will not. The official vehicles will not either.

Actually Challans is not the solution to correct traffic violations unless teaching properly, moreover traffic policeman, police and almost all government officials with green number plates offen violate traffic rules, making Challans by stopping cars and other vehicles on the way by blocking road is a violation, but who cares, do you think this way anyone will follow traffic rules…??
