Schools and Colleges Closed for Two Days in Punjab District

The district administration has announced that all educational institutions in Sialkot will remain closed on August 29 and 30 due to severe flooding in the region.

According to a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner, heavy rains and rising river levels have caused widespread damage in several parts of the district.

Authorities said the step was taken to prioritize the safety of students and teachers as rescue and relief efforts continue.

The closure applies to all tehsils of Sialkot. Some schools are also being used as temporary shelters and relief camps for families displaced by the floods.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to parents and school officials to comply with the government’s instructions and ensure children stay at safe locations until the situation stabilizes.
