The Government of Sindh has declared Wednesday, September 10, 2025, a holiday for all schools and colleges in Karachi Division. The decision applies to both public and private institutions and was confirmed through a notification issued by the Commissioner of Karachi.
The decision follows a weather advisory from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, which forecast heavy rainfall, wind, and thunderstorms across Karachi. Authorities said the measure was taken to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and workers during unstable weather conditions.
The closure covers all educational institutions in the division. Examinations scheduled for today will be rescheduled, with new dates to be announced by the respective boards and institutions.
Karachi has experienced repeated disruptions during the monsoon season this year, with urban flooding and traffic gridlocks creating risks for commuters. Today’s precautionary closure is intended to minimize hazards caused by extreme weather.
The government said that it will continue to monitor the weather situation closely. Further updates on school schedules will be shared if heavy rains persist in the coming days.
