The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has retrieved land valued at Rs. 424.47 million from encroachers and announced plans to build boundary walls around sites reserved for future projects.
According to RDA Estate Management Director Shahzad Gondal, the recovery operation was carried out under the directives of RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza. The retrieved land includes plots in Committee Chowk, Saidpur, and Civil Lines housing schemes.
Among the recovered areas were one kanal and 10 marlas in Civil Lines, two kanals and 18 marlas also in Civil Lines, nine marlas of commercial land at Committee Chowk, and 11.4 marlas in the Saidpur Housing Scheme.
Mr. Gondal said a comprehensive survey of state land would be finalized within two weeks, after which a detailed report would be issued.
Meanwhile, the RDA sealed one plaza and six shops on Chakri Road and removed multiple encroachments along G.T. Road.
DG Murtaza stressed that the crackdown on illegal construction and encroachments is part of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s zero-tolerance policy. She added that FIRs will be lodged against violators and strict action will follow, reaffirming RDA’s commitment to sustainable urban development.
