LDA Seals 12 Illegal Housing Schemes

The Metropolitan Wing of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday sealed 12 illegal housing schemes during a large-scale operation launched on the instructions of LDA Director General Tahir Farooq.

According to officials, the schemes were located around Suay Asal Road, where LDA teams demolished boundary walls, sewage systems, and other unauthorized structures before sealing their offices. Authorities said multiple notices had been issued to the owners prior to the operation.

In a separate crackdown, the LDA Town Planning Wing carried out actions across several parts of the city, including Raiwind Road, Nazariya Pakistan Road, Johar Town, Gulberg, Faisal Town, Gulshan Ravi, Samanabad, Wahdat Road, and Sabzazar.

During the drive, 131 properties were sealed for illegal commercial use and non-payment of commercial fees. Of these, 49 properties were sealed on Raiwind Road, 25 in Faisal Town and Gulberg, 20 in Gulshan Ravi and Samanabad, 25 on Nazariya Pakistan Road, and 12 in Wahdat Road, Allama Iqbal Town, and Sabzazar.

The LDA said the campaign would continue without discrimination to curb unauthorized housing schemes and commercial activity across Lahore.
