Car enthusiasts and collectors will once again have the chance to bid for rare number plates as Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) brings back its premium license plate auction later this month.
The event, scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Grand Hyatt Dubai, will feature 90 distinctive plates, including highly sought-after two-, three-, four-, and five-digit numbers from categories AA, BB, K, L, M, N, P, Q, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z. Among the highlights are the standout plates BB 88 and BB 777, expected to attract significant interest.
License plates in Dubai are known to command huge prices depending on their rarity. In 2024, the two-digit plate AA16 fetched Dh7.32 million, while AA999 was sold for Dh4.05 million.
Seating for the live auction will be limited, with preference given to active participants, so early registration is recommended. The event begins at 4:30 pm.
The RTA expects another round of record-breaking bids as collectors compete for some of the most exclusive numbers available in the region.
