Sana Yousaf’s Killer Indicted in Her Murder Case

Islamabad’s Additional District and Sessions Court on Saturday indicted Umar Hayat in the murder case of TikToker Sana Yousaf. The accused denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty during the hearing before Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka.

The case has now formally entered trial. Seventeen-year-old Sana Yousaf was shot dead in June inside her home in Islamabad’s G-13 Sector. According to police, the attacker entered the house, fired at her from close range, and escaped. A case was later filed against Umar Hayat at the Sumbal Police Station.

Hayat faces charges of murder as well as stealing the victim’s mobile phone. When the judge asked for his response, Hayat replied: “I have not committed any such crime. All of this is false.” He also denied the robbery charge, insisting he was innocent.

At the last hearing on September 13, the accused was provided with a copy of the police challan. Investigators have claimed that Hayat confessed during interrogation to shooting Sana Yousaf inside her residence.

The court has summoned witnesses for the next hearing, scheduled for September 25, while a formal charge sheet has been framed against the accused.
