Have Cyber Attacks in Europe Disrupted Flight Operations at Pakistani Airports?

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) confirmed on Sunday that all airports in the country remain secure and unaffected following cyberattacks that disrupted operations at major international airports in the United Kingdom and Europe.

Airports, including London Heathrow, Brussels, and Berlin, experienced severe interruptions after electronic systems were targeted, leading to flight delays and cancellations.

In a statement, a PAA spokesperson said that operations across Pakistan’s airports are running normally, with no reports of glitches, cyber threats, or software malfunctions.

Immigration desks, airline systems, ground handling agents, and other critical services are fully functional, the authority added.

While Pakistan’s systems continue to operate smoothly, airports abroad faced significant challenges.

At Heathrow and other European hubs, electronic check-in systems were disabled, causing long queues and disruptions. Airports in Brussels and Berlin also reported delays and flight cancellations.

Collins Aerospace, a global aviation technology provider, confirmed its system was among those hit, describing the issue as a technical failure caused by the cyberattack.

The PAA reiterated that Pakistan’s aviation network remains fully secure, with monitoring systems in place to protect against such threats.
