Islamabad to Introduce Rescue Drones in a Bid to Modernize Emergency Services

A high-level meeting on Capital Emergency Services was held on Friday at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters, chaired by CDA Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa.

Focus on Upgrading Emergency Services

The session reviewed plans to modernize and strengthen Capital Emergency Services in Islamabad. Officials informed the meeting that consultations are underway with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to ensure technical support and the provision of advanced equipment.

Modern Operations and Equipment

It was highlighted that the service will be equipped with drones, rescue motorbikes, and specialized vehicles to improve efficiency and response time. In addition, a modern Emergency Operations Center will be set up to monitor operations and ensure a faster, coordinated response during emergencies.

Forest Fire Preparedness

The meeting was further briefed that state-of-the-art technology, particularly drone surveillance, will be utilized. Watchtowers will also be established to strengthen preparedness and response in tackling forest fires.

Authorities confirmed that a suitable site has already been identified for the establishment of the Emergency Operations Center, marking a significant step toward modernizing Islamabad’s emergency response framework.
