Young Student Jumps Off Building After Poor Exam Result

A first-year student of Government College Women University (GCWU) attempted suicide on Wednesday after receiving low marks in her exams.

According to a university spokesperson, 19-year-old Zainab jumped from the stairs in distress over her exam result. Rescue 1122 personnel quickly arrived at the scene and shifted her to Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment. Hospital officials confirmed that her condition is stable.

In another similar but rather unfortunate incident in Faisalabad, a woman reportedly took her own life after being denied permission to go shopping.

The incident occurred in Chak No. 537-BD, where the family was preparing for the wedding of their son, scheduled for November 1, 2025. The deceased, identified as Asnia, daughter of Ghafoor, was upset after her family went to Jaranwala for shopping without her. In a moment of despair, she allegedly shot herself.

Police completed the necessary legal formalities and handed over the body to her family.
