Man Booked for Harassing and Assaulting Maid

Police have registered a case against a man accused of harassing and assaulting a housemaid in Jaranwala.

According to the FIR filed at Saddar Police Station, the complainant, Ayesha Riaz, a resident of Noor Pur, stated that she worked as a housemaid for a man named Hamza. She alleged that the accused repeatedly harassed her on different occasions and, when confronted, verbally abused her, slapped her, and pulled off her veil.

Hearing her cries for help, nearby residents rushed to the scene, prompting the accused to flee.

Police have booked the suspect under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Pakistan Penal Code. A search is underway to arrest the accused.
