Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Sunday publicly released the photograph of a Highway Patrolling Police constable who was arrested after a video went viral showing him allegedly harassing a woman inside a passenger bus in Sargodha.

According to officials, the incident occurred at Narowal Chowk, Muridke, where the uniformed officer allegedly targeted a female passenger. After the footage drew widespread outrage online, police traced and detained the suspect. In a post accompanying the officer’s image, the chief minister said there would be “zero tolerance for incidents of harassment” and pledged strict action to safeguard women in public spaces.
The video triggered intense public criticism, with social media users demanding exemplary punishment and accountability within the police ranks.
