The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Multan has arrested Munawar Qureshi, the owner of Munawar Pharma Company, in connection with a Rs. 140 million fraud case.
The arrest took place during a raid ordered by Director Anti-Corruption Basharat Nabi and led by Circle Officer Naveed Anjum.
Officials said Qureshi is accused of colluding with officers of the Health Department to embezzle medicines worth Rs. 140 million.
Following the arrest, Senior Civil Judge Ehsan Sabir granted a six-day physical remand of Munawar Qureshi on Friday to enable further investigation.
Authorities have also formed special teams to track down and arrest other Health Department officers and employees believed to be involved in the scam.
