The Sindh government has approved the expansion of the People’s Bus Service to Khairpur, Shikarpur, and Naushahro Feroze.
The announcement came during a meeting of the transport department chaired by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, who reviewed the progress of ongoing and upcoming mass transit projects.
According to the statement issued after the meeting, 20 additional buses will be introduced under the expanded service to enhance connectivity and ensure accessible, affordable transport for residents in the newly added districts.
The minister also discussed the upcoming launch of double-decker and electric buses in Karachi, along with the province’s first electric taxi service, expected to begin operations in December.
He emphasized that the Sindh government remains committed to strengthening the province’s transport infrastructure through modern, environment-friendly, and commuter-focused initiatives designed to meet the growing demand for safe and efficient mobility.
