Getting a Learner Driving Permit Made Easier in Islamabad

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has introduced a new facility to make obtaining learner permits more convenient for citizens, following the directives of Inspector General (IG) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (R) Hamza Humayun, citizens can now obtain learner permits directly from mobile facilitation vans stationed at four key checkpoints across the capital. These vans are currently available at Zero Point, Faizabad, G-14, and the Foreign Office checkpoints.

The initiative aims to ease the licensing process for drivers who do not yet possess a valid driving license. Traffic police officers deployed at these points are actively checking licenses, and those found without a license or learner permit will be issued a learner permit on the spot through the facilitation vans.

The new step is part of the ITP’s broader campaign to ensure road safety and encourage all drivers to obtain valid licenses before driving on city roads. Officials said the initiative reflects the department’s commitment to making public services more accessible and efficient for residents of Islamabad.

  • Tell the army traffic officer that 1000 is too much for the people of Pakistan who earn honest living

  • ITP Driving License office should be open 24/7 to accommodate people. 8:30 am-3pm is useless timing by ITP. The working class can’t afford to stand in long lines. Same applies with uni students. If ITP wants to mint money and impose strict laws, it must first shape up.
