The process to resume direct flights between Pakistan and the United States has reached its final stages. A delegation from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is scheduled to visit Pakistan in January 2026, according to 24News HD.
Official sources, quoted by 24News, say the FAA team will conduct a comprehensive audit of several Pakistani airports. The results of this audit will determine if Pakistan qualifies for the resumption of direct air operations to the US.
This visit follows an earlier FAA delegation’s tour in September 2025, where the team gave a positive signal after reviewing airport infrastructure and airline standards. Officials believe the upcoming audit will help clear the last procedural hurdles for restoring direct flights, which have been suspended for several years.
