The district administration of Nankana Sahib has declared a public holiday on Wednesday, November 5, in connection with the celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary.

According to an official notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Tasleem Akhtar Rao, all public and private offices across the district will remain closed on the day to mark the religious occasion.

Earlier, the District Education Authority (DEA) Nankana Sahib had already announced a three-day closure for educational institutions from November 4 to November 6.

The order applies to 24 government schools and all private institutions within Nankana City, including Guru Nanak Higher Secondary School, MC Girls High School, Girls High School (Fatima Jinnah), and various primary schools located in Canada Colony, Purani Abadi, Shaheed Kot, and other areas.

The annual celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 556th birth anniversary attract thousands of Sikh pilgrims from around the world, especially from India, who visit the founder of Sikhism’s birthplace in Nankana Sahib.

The local administration has finalized security and facilitation arrangements to ensure smooth celebrations throughout the three-day event.
