The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is preparing to enter its next decade with PSL 11 the first edition of its new identity which is scheduled to take place next year.
According to local media sources, all six franchises and the league management have now reportedly agreed on the tournament window following a series of deliberations.
Traditionally held in February and March, the PSL X was rescheduled this year to accommodate the ICC Champions Trophy. Planning for PSL 11 was also further complicated by the upcoming T20 World Cup, which is set to run from February to March 2026, prompting franchises to seek an alternative timeframe.
It is now being reported that PSL 11 will be held in the same window as PSL X—April and May of 2026.
This decision emerged from a high-level meeting in Lahore, which brought together representatives from all PSL franchises and league officials. Insiders indicate that discussions also covered player management strategies, tentative scheduling, and potential venues for the upcoming season.
Among the most significant developments was a presentation on the possible inclusion of two new teams, reflecting the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) intent to expand the league’s reach across the country. Franchise owners were briefed on how this expansion could influence team valuations and open new commercial avenues.
Sources further revealed that franchises will receive a valuation update next week, outlining the financial roadmap and projected returns under the proposed structure.
If approved, the addition of two teams would mark a pivotal moment for the PSL—transforming it from a six-team competition into a broader, more competitive format, at a time when the global T20 calendar is becoming increasingly crowded.
With PSL 11 slated for April and May, and expansion plans gaining momentum, the league appears poised for a defining chapter in its evolution.
