The Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) has announced 75 fully-funded scholarships for Pakistani students for the academic year 2026–27 as part of the Government of China’s initiative to strengthen educational ties with Pakistan.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan serves as the official nominating agency responsible for shortlisting eligible applicants under this program.
The Chinese Government Scholarship Program supports international students in pursuing Undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD degrees in various academic fields. A one-year Chinese language preparatory course is also included where required.
| Category | Major Study Duration (Years) | Chinese Language Preparatory Year (Years) |
|---|---|---|
| Undergraduate | 4–5 | 1–2 |
| Master’s | 2–3 | 1–2 |
| Doctoral (PhD) | 3–4 | 1–2 |
It is worth noting that the preparatory year is mandatory for undergraduate students unless they possess a valid HSK Level 3 certificate (valid for two years). Also, both Chinese- and English-taught programs are available for Master’s and PhD candidates.
The CSC Scholarship provides comprehensive financial support throughout the degree program:
